Prediabetes is when your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed and treated as Type 2 Diabetes. Regarded as a leading risk measure of Type 2 Diabetes, prediabetes is a wake-up call that all is not well.
Unfortunately, very few people are even aware that they have this problem, because the condition rarely produces any symptoms, other than hard-to-lose weight for some people. The lack of overt symptoms can make it easy to ignore, which can lead to a diagnosis of full-blown Type 2 Diabetes and all the complications that ensue.
The good news is that there is much you can do by way of nutrition and lifestyle changes to not only prevent the progression of Prediabetes to Type 2 Diabetes, but also potentially reverse Prediabetes. Choose to act now and make the necessary changes that will put the brakes on this otherwise runaway train.
I am an ADCES Certified Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach. I conduct Prevent T2 programmes for individuals who have been diagnosed with Prediabetes. You have the option to choose between Individual Coaching and Group Programmes that run a few times a year.
